An Ode To Writing

Writing
It has always been waiting for you
You never have to wait for it
Writing can be done anywhere
So many ways to write too
More than just an ode
A story, a reflection
The pen and paper just waiting for you start a new
But when you touch them they wake like a lion
Ready to write anything
So much freedom out of the blue
But you can never be wrong
Because when you write there is no limit
There is nothing stopping you
Like a silent morning the stars dancing out of the sky
No limit for the day ahead
Just a quiet dew
It lightens the load
A fresh start
A soul that feels new
When you write everything is gone
Everything is still
Just the piece and you.
Reflection
The Ode to Writing by Reed Garrison is a poem that really explains all the possibilities of writing. This ode has a very good flow with a rhyme every 2 lines and has figurative language like personification and a great simile. This ode also shows the way writing can be anything. My favorite part is, “There is nothing stopping you. Like a silent morning the stars dancing out of the sky no limit for the day ahead just a quiet dew” Because it has a great point but also ties into the rhyme scheme. Another great line is, “The pen and paper just waiting for you to start a new” Because it shows that the writing is coming from you and without you the pen and paper are just sitting there waiting. The Ode to Writing is a poem that shows that writing will take a load of your soul but without you there is just a pen and paper.
