Internet, Youtube, and How I Feel

First off I would just like to say that on this website, I am working on some major changes. I am going to try and make blogging more of a hobby which will result in more activity and honest writing.
I want my blog to be more of a lifestyle, a "just gettin it out there" feel. To me, it seems like right now my blog consists of a few poems and some essays that I have written for school. I can honestly say that none of the pieces you see on this website were written FOR my blog. They were part of a writing project that I simply copied and pasted into this blog. Yes, they are good pieces, and yes I would like to continue writing poems and more formal pieces but I just feel like I have been cheating myself by not actually writing something for my blog.
Over the past few months (or more!) I have been searching for a hobby to fill up my extra time. Something that makes me happy and has a productive outcome. You probably know I have stared up a youtube channel (see it here) and I actually LOVE making videos. It is a lot of work and I spend a lot of time editing, recording, scripting, etc. but it does make me happy. Youtube is quite competitive today and when I began my channel I definitely wasn't in it for the likes or subscribers, I just wanted to make videos! I watch a few Youtubers (which is a crazy job!) They make millions of dollars depending on their views. Watching their videos, they have such an easy life filled with vacations and sponsorships. Youtube has turned into a career. More recently, I have begun being more aware of my subscriber count and the content that I am putting out. It is hard to be myself on Youtube because there are so many standards and people to look up too. I want to be like these Youtubers but at the same time, I don't. They didn't go to college and if the internet shuts down, their career is ruined.
Photography is another thing that I have become more interested in recently. It is something that I enjoy but also gets me outside and shifts my perspective. I would like to put pictures on this website that I have taken, to create a portfolio and not just copy and paste from the internet. I feel like on this blog, I can bring my writing, feelings, and photography together, in a non-competitive way. So yeah, that is what my goal is for this blog and I hope that more people will start to read it as I put more effort into it. Here we go!
