A sliver shines on me

Making shadows able to see

A smooth milky sphere far away

Comes when time’s contrary is day

The galaxy’s dots come say hello

Twinkling with a soft glow

Rays balance on windows

They tip-toe across the room, slowly

One inch for each tick on the old crooked clock

Sleep is covering the children like death

As they dream and let out a single breath

The silence of night falls like rain

And floods the neighborhood in peace, water

Strays scramble and scavenge scraps

Humming to the sounds

Of the melodic silence

Casting a tall shadow

The flag steadily blows

With the rhythm of the wind

And the trees and the songs

Of the breeze

Music is made

By the presence

Of the moon
