Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 19 of Quarantine: Stay Helpful

Total cases (US): 277161

Total deaths(US): 7392

Hello Everyone this is Reed, Ava's brother and I wanted to contribute my thoughts to Ava's blog. I think that we should all stay helpful. 3 weeks ago I was playing hockey in Denver and coronavirus was just a little sickness that we thought we would never have to deal with. None of us thought that in 3 weeks we would have to wear a mask when we went out to walk our dog.

One thing that has been hard is that unlike Ava's school where they have classes and a schedule we just have weekly assignments. One way I stay self motivated is to make a schedule and take many breaks. The one thing that I do to get away from these times is read. The only thing that is not good about my escape is that I do it anytime that I can. So now I can't really escape that way because by book is in my moms safe where she won't let me get it.

The second best thing to do is help. Helping can be very boring but when you do it then the person you are helping gets really happy and they might let you read. Helping is also fun when you are outside because then you can make a little money. But helping isn't very fun when you are helping someone that is stuck in a muddy hole for 12 hours.

Next time you come across Ava's Avenue make sure to take a left on Reed Road!

Coming Up On Reed Road:

1. Letter to the President

2. Auto Correct Humanity

3. Book Reviews

Here are some pictures from yesterday when we went outside because we were really bored. It was nice to go out in the sunshine especially since it has been wind and snowy the last few days. We jumped on the trampoline, grabbed our walk talkies and just had fun.

Stay helpful,

Reed

As Mr. Rogers always said, "Look for the helpers!" You, Ava, and your whole family are the helpers who spread positivity and joy. Thank you for sharing!

Reed, I just read both entries and I am so glad you wrote (and sent! ) your letter on climate change and the importance of reentering the Paris Climate Agreement to President Trump. Your decision to take action by writing the President reminds me of Viktor Frankel’s wisdom that when forces beyond our control take place we still can choose how we will respond.

By choosing to write and present your views to the President you are doing something positive and taking action that may change his mind about something important to the entire world. Thank you! I also enjoyed your post on day 19 about how reading is helpful to you and how helping others is importan…
