Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Day 40 of Quarantine: Stay Connected Total cases (US): 925232 Total deaths(US): 52193
The United States is beginning to open and move into the next phase. It has been 40 days since I have entered a building other than my own home, seen my friends in person, and played volleyball with my team. I am excited to get back to the new normal and interact with people again (even if it is at a distance of 6 feet). One definition of quarantine means "a period of 40 days" so it is ironic that today marks 40 days in quarantine. Tomorrow we are going to Glenwood and I will get to see my grandma. I am looking forward to it but it will be weird if we wear masks the whole time. I've learned a lot during this time, not only in school but in life. As I look back on "Day 1: Stay Thoughtful," there was so much uncertainty and stress in the world. I was nervous and upset that I wouldn't get to go back to school and finish my freshman year of high school. Through this all though, I have learned how to accept life's uncertainty and how to write about it using my blog. Writing and my readers are truly what has gotten me through these 40 days with a smile on my face. Every time I hear a notification that someone is on my blog, read a comment posted, or get an email about my writing, it reminds me of my purpose and why I am doing this. Each person who reads my writing makes me happy and fills my heart.
This is really what has gotten me through these 40 days with a smile on my face. Each person who reads my writing gives me one more reason to keep going.
Bob (known as rscr49890) was the one who inspired me to do this and continued to motivate me with his positive feedback and encouragement. Kevin has been on this blog since the beginning and continues to engage and give me great, honest feedback. Wendi has been involved and is continually giving me great ideas and feedback. Mrs. Kess, who I miss as a teacher but am glad we still connect, has warmed my heart with her positivity and feedback. My grandma, mom, and dad are always supporting me both in person and on my blog... I almost forgot Reed who wrote for me when I needed a break. Thank you to Laura and Ron who I have the opportunity to give my gift of writing to. Each person who reads my blog inspires me to write and explore more. Since this quarantine is over I will not be writing every day but I will continue each week and throughout this process, I am grateful we have connected.
I will see you next week!
Stay connected,
Ava
Your daily posts have inspired and motivated me. You've made me think and feel deeply. You've made me laugh and cry. Your photography and music have warmed my soul. How great to be connected to you, Ava. We've inspired each other, plus I just like spending time with you! Throw a kiss to your Grandma for me today.
Ms Ava, I just have to say that your blogs have helped me get through the confinement. We are still in n Shelter in Place until May 8, so our story keeps going. So glad you are all going to see Carol give her a big air hug. Thank you so much for sharing you, who you are. I feel I know you as my niece so much better. Thank you for your daily insights I have truly enjoyed them.
