Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 32 of Quarantine: Stay Collaborating

Total cases (US): 677570

Total deaths(US): 34617

It is important to collaborate during quarantine! Working with other people can help you get out of your head and be more engaged with the whole community. Even if it is starting with your family, it is a great tool to be able to communicate and compromise in all situations. It is hard to work together, especially now, but it is an impactful opportunity to get to know yourself and others better.

Today I am sharing with you a song that I made last week with someone in my grade that I had never really met. We came up with the idea to use "I Lived" by OneRepublic and the infamous Canon in D Major. However, the first song was written in the key of A so we had to transpose Canon in D to become Canon in A.

Our teacher assigned us the project a few weeks ago and told us that we had to find a partner before the end of the week. On Thursday, I still did not have a partner so I sent a message to our band group chat that has over 20 people in it and I don't have any of the phone numbers saved. Immediately, someone responded that they needed a partner too... but I had no idea who it was. Through all of this, my mom was freaking out and kept telling me I had to respond right away so whoever it was wouldn't feel bad! I had to explain that whoever was texting me (I knew it was a boy through a process of elimination) wasn't sitting there waiting for me to respond but she was relentless.

I finally sent a text to him saying, "Oh cool! Let's work together... I don't have any of the numbers in my contacts so who is this?" I felt very stupid asking who it was but I wanted to know who I was working with before I started the project.

I encourage you to collaborate with others and hopefully, you know who you are working with beforehand! :)

Stay collaborating,

Ava

The music is so beautiful, Ava, but I wish you shared a picture of the two of you, or the video had the two of you working together. True collaboration.

Yeah, I don’t know, she seems kind of intense to me. But I second the kudos...well done, and the music was great!
