Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 4 of Quarantine: Weather, our moods and some other random topics

Total cases (US): 13789

Total deaths(US): 207

The past couple of days have been very warm and have almost felt like summer. The windows have been left open to let in the fresh air and I have found myself sitting outside on the deck. I feel that the sunshine and outdoors have made quarantine bearable.

However, this morning I woke up and opened my blinds to find a windy, snowy blizzard. I guess if you live in Colorado and it's December, some fresh snow makes you pretty happy but in March... not so much. As the mountains are closed for the seasons, it is not fun (to me) to go skiing without a chairlift.

It seems that the weather affects us all when it comes to our moods and emotions. This is mostly due to UV rays, which can help regulate your body’s circadian rhythm and boost your mood. Especially with Coronavirus, it has been nice to be able to go for a walk and get out of the house. When it's a gloomy day it never feels the same as a bright blue-skied day. The sunshine seems to help me be productive and get stuff done. It's nice to be warm and snuggled up on a cold day but it doesn't help with productivity at all.

Since the weather was not pleasant today, Reed, Mom, and I did an online yoga class. We have recently been doing Peloton workouts including their outdoor walks and they are very inspiring! The trainers are so engaging and friendly. Anyway, this guy named Dennis lead our yoga class and was very funny. He would tell you all of these inspiring things and then at the end when the time was up he was still laying there and we wondered for a few moments if he was dead.

You can tell that I am bored and don't have much to write about today because I would normally not elaborate on things like this. There's not much else I can say...

Ah, I just remembered our quarantine within the quarantine. Mom struggled with telling our cleaning lady not to come but we decided that we didn't want to lay her off and after all, she was CLEANING.🤷🏼‍♀️So today she came and instead of having her not come because of the virus, we shut ourselves in the storage room for two hours which was lovely (but went by VERY slowly).

Hopefully, I can think of something to write about tomorrow.

Stay positive,

Ava

The weather does create my mood but as I am reading this and it is snowing outside I am glad that I have your brilliance to keep me company. 😀
