Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 7 of Quarantine: Things To DO

Total cases (US): 33546

Total deaths(US): 419

Here are some easy and interesting things you can do at home. These activities do not require a variety of materials and will help you from losing your mind.

1. Look through old journals and writings:

It can be very fun to look back on old journals and see how you and your writing has changed. It is a great way to pass the time and tune into yourself.

2. Mindful coloring:

Meditative coloring is a very helpful tool that is creative and calming. It is proven to relax your mind and soothe your nerves. If you do not own a coloring book, you can find printable sheets here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16RyVSXmOTxbR4Z9u_rtNnSi95c5zOYC2/view?usp=sharing

3. Play a board game or make your own board game:

Gathering your family (or stuffed animals) and playing a game is very fun and can help with your boredom. If you want to go the extra step, make a board game. It could be about a walk through your neighborhood or you could make a board game about Coronavirus... it's up to you.

4. Write a Choose Your Own Adventure story

Writing a story is an excellent thing to do when you are bored. Try writing a "Choose Your Own Adventure" type of story where there are multiple endings.

5. Learn origami

Origami may seem elementary and basic but paper folding "challenges us at the cognitive level as we follow instructions, learning new skills and activities. " There are many origami tutorials on YouTube and you don't need any materials except for paper.

6. Listen to podcasts

There are so many wonderful podcasts and most of them are free. You could listen to a story, game show, news, or mystery podcast. They are great to listen to as you clean your house or fold origami. ;)

7. Watch a documentary on youtube

Rather than watching Netflix or a movie, try watching a documentary. Whether it is about a historical figure or narrated by David Attenborough, you will not be disappointed. Free Solo, which isn't free, is a very fascinating documentary.

8. Make a vision board

Need inspiration? A vision board is a great way to organize your ideas, hopes, and goals. I made a vision board for 2020 and you can watch the video here:

Stay busy,

Ava

Hi Ava. I watched your video on how to build a Vision Board. Pretty cool, and really a well produced video. It's all as clear as a bell.

Enjoy the day!
