Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 8 of Quarantine: Stay Normal

Total cases (US): 43734

Total deaths(US): 553

Today I am going to talk about maintaining a tight schedule and

how it will help you accomplish what you need to each day. It is as simple as committing to doing 1 hour of something each day.

This topic was actually Reed's idea. I was asking him what I should write about that has to do with how Coronavirus is affecting us and he suggested that I write about maintaining normalcy. He has been doing school from home for a week now and I think he is learning the importance of keeping a routine.

It is not necessarily waking up early, but having a routine and waking up at the same time in the morning. While still giving yourself a break, maintaining a routine is crucial when getting homework, or any type of work done at home.

It's important to have “on hours” where you are working and “off hours" when you can relax and not focus on work. This way, you won't be tempted to watch movies during your on hours and you won't have to do work during your off hours. Try to keep both extremes separate from each other if you want your time to be more meaningful.

I have also found making a designated space very helpful. Although you might want it to feel like a vacation, this time should be productive because life still moves on whether Coronavirus is here or not. Set aside time to be active and go outside. Take a walk, sit in the sun, and give yourself a break when you need it.

I think it's really helpful to have a schedule but it's hard and sometimes you need to revisit the agenda a couple of times during the day. I think a plan is great however, you may have to reassess. If you miss something I don't think you should be hard on yourself. Don't hesitate to be gentle and adjust the times.

Hopefully, these tips will help you with adjusting your life. I better get back to doing homework now.

Stay normal,

Ava

Yep. On Hours and Off Hours. That's a good idea. It works for me, anyway.

And I love the way you ended, about getting back to your homework. Sounds like you're across the kitchen island form me.
