Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Day 5 of Quarantine: Laughter

Total cases (US): 19383

Total deaths(US): 256

Today is day 5 of quarantine and I already don't know what day it is. I wonder what it will be like on day 19, 23, or 30. Over the past five days, I feel like I've got nothing done but then again, I have completed the little tasks that I usually “don't have time for.” It’s really nice to be able to repair and have time to do the tasks that have been put aside for months and even years.

It's a little bit weird (but maybe comforting) to think about pets who have no idea what is going on. Huck is just happy to have me and Reed home for the company. We were pretty bored the other day so Reed and I decided how to teach him to jump over a person. I will put the video below if you are in need of a little laugh today.

I'm glad that everyone is taking advantage of technology: even my violin lessons are online.

My Headmaster sent out an email yesterday that classes will start on Tuesday and will be mostly through video chat. Honestly, I'm kind of excited and think it will be a fun experience. All of my classes will be pretty straightforward to do online except for chapel band. I'm not sure how that will go but I imagine it will be interesting as we also have a production team that works “in the back.” I’m trying to imagine how boring it will be for the lights guy and what about the soundcheck person? Maybe the cameraman will just do a screen recording.🤪🤔

Today I actually felt very productive. I decided to make a schedule with the tasks I needed to complete and it worked very well. I started a course called “English for Journalism” from the University of Pennsylvania and today’s lesson was very interesting. Reed and I have had a lot of time to play music so today we decided that we are going to learn and film one song each day on a new instrument. Today we filmed “To Die For” by Sam Smith. The sun came out today which was very nice and it felt like spring with the combination of mud and snow. We made pizzas on the grill and then I tried to put a hat on Huck and it was very funny (pictured below). If I was not so bored and stir crazy I do not know if I would find this funny but here we are.

This weekend, Mom wants to paint the living room and the entire entry. This means that everyone will mind their own business and carry on as normal except Dad will spend 12 hours each day on a ladder, painting. I’ll leave you picturing that.

Stay humorous,

Ava
